Therapy and assessment for adults in Kalamazoo MI

Therapy Services

Each insurance plan covers sessions differently. We are happy to verify your coverage and let you know of any out-of-pocket costs before we start services.

We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, and Priority Health insurances.

We also accept FSA/HSA payments for all services rendered.

We see clients private pay as well. Our rate for a 55-minute session is $125.

ADHD Assessments

We do not accept insurance for ADHD assessments. These services are provided as private pay only, and all fees are collected at the beginning of the assessment meeting. More information can be found by clicking here.

Insurance cannot be used for ADHD assessments.

We can accept FSA/HSA payments for ADHD assessments.

The rate for a complete ADHD assessment and report is $650. This includes all necessary assessments and clinical interviews needed to formulate a comprehensive report. This fee covers assessment and finalized report only. Any ADHD-focused therapy interventions are typically insurance-covered services and separate from the assessment fee.

  • Let’s be honest, we are going to ask you “how does that make you feel” A LOT! But we will also help you build up the tools needed to truly be able to answer that question! Clients often describe sessions with our therapists as feeling like a conversation - things are relaxed and low-pressure. We will talk about how our thoughts-feelings-behaviors are present in our day-to-day life and how/why we want to change them. Sounds hard, and it is on a certain level, but you truly will have a helpful ally in the journey to understand this better.

  • We can’t make any guarantees, but most people find that just taking dedicated time out of their busy lives to directly address these issues goes a long way in starting to feel relief. We also use evidence-based treatments to target specific issues that you struggle with. We will use a combination of talking things out, building skills, and practicing them out in the real world between sessions.

  • There is no cookie cutter answer here. Therapy is entirely what you make of it. If you are looking for a time-limited treatment course, we can talk about if this feasible for what we are trying to achieve or not. However, we often encourage clients to come in with an open mind to explore. Often there are many layers to the onion that is our mental health and it often isn’t an easy 1-2-3 fix. That being said, all of our treatments will be uniquely created for you, so we can work together to find a plan that works for you. Your needs and desires will always be a top priority for the therapists here at Balance Life Therapy.
