MEET amyrillis payne, LLMSW

Ready to feel confident and secure in yourself again?

Amyrillis is currently accepting new clients in both Kalamazoo and statewide in Michigan for virtual sessions - evening and weekend appointments available.

Remember when feeling lost and confused, and overwhelmed with decision-making weren’t “the norm”… now those days feel like a lifetime ago. Imagine a world where you had the tools you needed to get back to your best self.

You’ve come to the right place.

Hi, my name is Amyrillis Payne and I help people like you who are looking to find peace and contentment again, but just need help, support, and guidance to get there. I help my clients rediscover their self-confidence and self-worth while building feelings of fulfillment and happiness. We will work on equipping you with the tools you need to trust yourself and your own judgment.

Many of today’s solutions for feelings of low self-esteem and anxiety are cookie-cutter and one-size-fits-all. Many people are left feeling alone and unsure how to “fix” themselves. I know that you are your own person with your own experiences that have contributed to who you are today. We will work together each step of the way to create a plan and toolkit that are made for you and will have you feeling more confident and self-assured.

We will start with exploring the core beliefs and past experiences that are causing your low self-confidence and unmanageable anxiety and worry. From there we work together to change the beliefs and behaviors that are hurting us and holding us back from being our best self. Through our work together, you will be able to trust yourself more and feel more empowered being you.

My style

I am dedicated to helping people love and trust themselves more.

My training and experience in anxiety, trauma, and low self-esteem mean that I have the skill and expertise you deserve when trying to improve your daily life. But when looking for a therapist, everybody wants to feel like they have found somebody who “gets it” - that they understand what it means to doubt yourself and not feel good enough.

I get it because I have been there too - struggling to trust yourself to make big (and sometimes even small) decisions, not believing that you are capable and competent and just plain “good enough”. I know that some days feel beyond overwhelming and feel like the only way through it is to hide and hope it all goes away. When we work together you won’t just get a trained and experienced therapist, you will get a person who gets it and gets you. You will get an ally and a partner to help you find a new way through these hard and impossible-feeling days.

My guiding principles

Creativity

There is not just one way to solve a puzzle, we will work to create a plan and approach that is entirely you-focused.

Kindness

We are often far meaner to ourselves than we would ever be to somebody else. You must be kind and compassionate with yourself during this process.

Safety

Good therapy requires safety - safety to show up as yourself. I will never judge your thoughts, feelings, or fears.
